Lesson 1

*best piece of creative work:

I drew this in my spare time off several photos of Notre Dame in Paris. It was done by graphic pens in my sketchbook.

*great piece of architecture:

SAGRADA FAMILIA - Antoni Gaudi (roof detail)
An incomplete building located in Barcelona, this large Roman Catholic church is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was known to be Gaudi's life obsession and his greatest masterpiece.
I visited this church on a holiday and I remember experiencing extreme frustration at the fact that i was forced to line up for 3 hours to see a building by someone I'd never heard of. Yet when i entered it took my breath away; it was the most unusual, extraordinarily stunning and overwhelming space I've ever encountered. After about 2 hours of mesmerised photo-taking i had to be dragged out - there was just so much to absorb.

*original image of something beautiful
A random street in Rome, Italy
I took this photo because i loved the rugged texture of the bricks against the faded paint; it was something i loved to see replicated in paintings and artworks. There was a certain beauty and wisdom within these naturally weathered walls; it had a quiet, unnoticeable charm that people walked past every day without a second glance.
